TVEL JSC (managing company of Rosatom's Nuclear Fuel Division) has signed a long-term cooperation agreement with the republican unitary enterprise Belarusian Radioactive Waste Management Organization (BelRAO). The document signed at the Belarusian Energy Forum in Minsk.

«The agreement confirms our bilateral interest in strengthening ties in a wide range of areas and our focus on developing mutually beneficial cooperation, with radioactive waste management as a priority», commented Eduard Nikitin, director of decommissioning programs at TVEL JSC.

«The establishment of a radioactive waste disposal facility will meet the requirements of the European Union's environmental taxonomy and contribute to the sustainable development of nuclear energy in the country and we are ready to share with our colleagues the extensive and successful Russian experience in the field of radioactive waste management», he added.
